Venue Overview: 

Circuit of the Americas (COTA) is the premier destination for world-class motorsports and entertainment in the United States. Set on 1,500 acres in the rolling hills just outside downtown Austin, Circuit of the Americas has hosted the biggest names in racing, action sports, and music since 2012. At its heart is a 3.41 mile racetrack that was designed to challenge the world's most exacting competitors, and a 14,000 seat Amphitheatre, which hosts the hottest musical acts thrilling audiences throughout the year.  The dynamic venue is the home of events such as the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix, The Moto GP Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas, and the famous outdoor music venue, Austin 360 Amphitheater Concert Series. 

 

Job Description

The Event Coordinator staff is primarily responsible for effectively assisting the COTA Guest Operations team in the execution of events; creating a positive work environment; and providing exemplary customer service to all guests, including our premium members. Event Coordinator team members should be professional; and have a positive attitude. The Event Coordination team will work under the guidance of the COTA Guest Operations team.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in the execution of the overall guest experience
  • Positively represent COTA in a leadership capacity for event staff and in guest facing situations
  • Coordinate and help manage premium hospitality areas including but not limited to; races, track rentals, concerts/entertainment, conferences, banquets, facility rentals, etc.
  • Assist current members and guests with customer service related inquiries
  • Help create and execute events at the Circuit of The Americas for volunteer staff, premium members, etc.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, and support team to reach common goals.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally
  • Proficient in Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Able to simultaneously manage a high level of detail across multiple projects
  • Able to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Able to work well within a team environment
  • Able to maintain a flexible work schedule in order to deal effectively with special event responsibilities

 

Requirements:

  • 2 years of service experience (entertainment industry preferred)
  • Must be open to working nights and weekends, as needed
  • Must be available for major motorsport events and concerts
  • Must be able to demonstrate adaptability while on the job
  • Ability to work in stressful situations with composure
  • Ability to take direction and follow-through on requests

 

Physical Demands: 

  • Ability to stand, sit, use of hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to lift and/ or move up to 15 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision
  • Must be able to endure seasonal temperatures as working conditions require some outdoor work

 

Work Environment:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud during events
