The internship in the Events + Hospitality department at COTA gives students the opportunity to learn more about the live event industry. Interns experience a true hands-on work environment while assisting staff members with all aspects and responsibilities that go into producing a successful event. This will be an in-person unpaid internship, requiring 2-3 days in office (15-20hrs/ week).

Job Functions and Responsibilities:

• Looking for an intern to assist the Events + Hospitality team with the planning and execution of both small-scale and large-scale events here at COTA.
• Shadow our events team on property site tours and calls with client.
• Attend and contribute to weekly meetings with other departments.
• Assist with ordering, logging and maintaining all incoming inventory for our department.
• During major races, our interns will be placed in hospitality roles and be responsible for assisting guests and providing them with a world-class experience.
• Assist with set-up and strike for all events on property.
• Attend and help manage bike night, our weekly Tuesday night event that allows guests to cycle the track.
• Interns will learn about event sales and sit in on calls/ site visits with prospective clients.

Job Requirements/ Qualifications:

• Flexible schedule, ability to work weekends and evenings.
• Required Event Dates:
  • NASCAR race weekend (March 24-26)
  • MOTOGP race weekend (April 14-16)
• Able to communicate effectively with employees and guests.
• Attention to detail and strong time management skills are a MUST.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
• Positively represent COTA while in front of or speaking to guests.

Work Environment:

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud during events
