Job Description:

The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for management of Human Resources activities while ensuring compliance with policies, laws, and regulations. Performs the daily administration of HR services as directed or assigned, including but not limited to new hire orientation, wellness programs, DEI programs, job classification, performance evaluation, training, and employee relations in accordance with quality management principles and overall objectives of the organization.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform and/or manage all functions in the HR department, including but not limited to, hiring and recruiting, training and development, and employee relations
  • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training and anti-harassment training
  • Perform routine tasks required to administering and executing human resource programs including, but not limited to, company culture, wellness programs, and DEI programs
  • Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
  • Manage and assist with the day-to-day delivery of HR services to client groups and is a known and available resource to employees at all levels
  • Design and manage all employee onboarding/orientation (other than payroll matters) and off boarding processes; conduct all exit interviews
  • Source and evaluate external resources for HR management
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to appropriate staff
  • Maintain employee bulletin boards
  • Preparation of internal employee communications materials and newsletters
  • Monitor and manage, as appropriate, third party employer rating and review sites
  • Oversee completion of special projects as requested by Senior Management
  • Develop, evaluate, and implement efficient processes and procedures to support overall organizational strategies and goals. Provide support, research, reports, and recommendations requested by Senior Management
  • Implement recruiting functions, including scheduling job fairs; recruitment advertising and recruiting of employees and volunteer groups
  • Maintain Applicant Tracking System, by posting jobs, setting up Hiring Managers, reviewing applications
  • Assist managers in the creation of job descriptions as directed by hiring managers
  • Implement and organize discipline and discharge, coaching and counseling
  • Conduct investigations, and work in conjunction with counsel on workers compensation and other employee relation issues. Manage all termination processes with General Counsel
  • Act as internal consultant for other department managers and supervisors on employee relations, legal issues, as well as corporate policy and procedures administration and interpretation
  • Coordinate and conduct staff training programs
  • Ensure company compliance with employment laws, regulations, and company policies through interpretation, advising, and providing necessary training for all levels of employees
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of all HR functions (e.g., employee relations, employment law, EEO, compensation, training and benefits) and Human Resource related regulations and practices
  • Knowledgeable of applicable State and Federal US employment laws
  • Experience in employee relations
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation
  • Excellent presentation, public speaking, written and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to promote and participate in team environment concepts
  • Ability to understand written and oral direction and to communicate same with others

Requirement Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Management or comparable years of experience
  • A minimum of 5 -7 years of experience
  • SHRM-CP designation a plus
